this would work. but having the usb in side the case can limit the signal strength and cause unwanted interference.

If you put the USB wireless dongle inside the computer case it will not be able to pick up a signal. This is because radio waves cannot travel into the inside of an electrically charged metal container. Its known as a "Faraday cage". Google it.

Your question is a bit long and disorganized, but the general answer to your question is yes, you can. I did this once with an old laptop by soldering the wifi adapter to the pins on the motherboard. Of course, this makes that port unusable, but it does hide the usb dongle nicely. How to do it exactly will change based on your computer, dongle, and level of ability.

You can do it by modifying your mother board, but it doesn’t seem useful to me. I would suggest that if 6 ports aren’t enough, get a USB hub. 7 port hubs are cheap, and 12 port hubs are available. These hubs are generally self-powered, which eases the load on the often marginal computer power supply, and they can be daisy-chained to give you as many ports (well, up to 255 / controller) as you need.
