Ca I use a PCI airport card in a Powermac G5?

I’ve got a dual 1.8 G5 tower that I’d like to use WiFi with. The total cost of an AirPort Extreme card + the external antenna is a LOT more than the cost of a PCI airport card with an antenna attached. Could I get a PCI one and completely skip the installation of a regular apple wireless card?

According to Apple it’s the extreme card that needs to be installed. 1st link.

Check the G5 manual for further information regarding PCI requirements. 2nd link.
